HARTFORD—Sunday October 11, 2015, the love and skills of two people will be combined when National Champion swimmer Jeff Stuart swims three miles upstream through the Connecticut River to fund a program that creates and facilitates art-healing sessions for trauma survivors.
Beginning at 3:00 pm and lasting approximately 2 hours, Jeff, 54, will swim from the Charter Oak Boat Launch at the south end of Hartford, traveling under three major bridges, and end at north end’s Riverside Park Boat Launch.
Touched By Art is a non-profit program of United Charitable Programs. Lisa Barret is program Director. The program’s mission is to implement and facilitate healing and expressive arts, both privately and in conjunction with local agencies, schools, organizations to serve both the community, specifically those assisting those of low income, under privileged, and “at risk” youth population.

About Sandy Hook Memorial: Lisa Barrett designed the fountain, which she co-created with 30 companies. After 2 ½ years, the fountain was installed at AquaScapes of CT, in Portland, CT on May 23, 2015. It is open to the public for viewing six days a week.
